Disabled not defeated: With crippled hands, Peshawar man acquires education

PESHAWAR: For a man who hails from Peshawar, Noor Muhammad's faith is what drives his life.

Muhammad, 32, has never written a single word with his hands and yet he has a bachelor’s degree.

He carries out all his day’s activities using his feet, including writing and using the cell phone.

“I face a lot of problems in my routine life because of my disability,” said Muhammad while speaking to The Express Tribune. “I have been struggling to get a job, but have not availed anything so far.”

Muhammad strives to make ends meet. “I am father of two children and live in a rented house,” he said. “Financial crisis have made life miserable for us.”

On International Day for Disabled People on Saturday, Muhammad demanded the government provide him a job on special quota.
