MASTUNG: Newly constructed bridge of National Highway Authority on the Quetta-Karachi main highway collapsed in Mastung on Friday. Traffic on the highway was heavily disrupted on both sides of the bridge. Official sources confirmed the incident and said that the newly constructed bridge was opened for traffic a few days back. The NHA claimed that “millions of rupees were incurred in the construction of the bridge.” According to a preliminary investigation, the cause of the bridge collapsing was excessive use of sand and mud instead of cement and iron.
