
An accountability court on Friday extended by 14 days the judicial remand of former Hajj director Rao Shakeel Ahmad, who is accused of amassing assets beyond his declared income. Jail authorities produced Shakeel before the court on Friday.
They were told to present him again on December 16. According to the National Accountability Bureau, Shakeel owns a textile mills and a large plot on Ferozepur Road, property he could not have acquired with his declared income. Investigators also found Rs5 million in a bank account under his nine-year-old daughter’s name.
