ISLAMABAD:
The Government Girls Primary School was inaugurated in Dager Mera village on Wednesday. The school is part of a larger programme implemented by Save the Children and funded by the Canadian International Development Agency to support primary education in Battagram following the 2005 earthquake. Save the Children trained 300 teachers and 232 women PTC members, constructed six schools, improved the quality of 100 project schools and provided health and nutrition facilities to 28,000 children and safe drinking water for 29 schools. This has resulted in a 37% increase in school enrolment.
