
Addressing a news conference at the residence of District Nazim Bahalwapur Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema’s house, Elahi said that the deficit was proof of the fact that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) policies were based on "personal enjoyments."
Elahi alleged that the PML-N administration did not have any interest in public welfare and were befooling the masses.
Elahi said that the success of the PML-Q candidate Chaudhry Ehsanul Haq in the PP-275 by-elections was an eye opener for all parties and particularly the PML-N.
He said that the poll had exposed the foul policies and poor performance of the PML-led Punjab government which “used all its energy and resources to grab the seat.”
Elahi appreciated the people of Yazman for not voting for the PML-N.
The PML-Q leader said that the government had taken “appreciable and timely” steps over North Atlantic Treaty Organisation’s (Nato) attack on Pakistani check post.
Answering a question about a separate province for Bahawalpur, Elahi said that he would support the public sentiments about it.
Elahi said that his party had not yet finalised the policy for the upcoming elections and whether they [PML-Q] will contest the polls with an alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) or independently.
