An FIR was registered on behalf of Ghulam Hussain, a volunteer, at Soldier Bazaar police station against four unidentified men for the murder of the scouts under the Anti-Terrorism Act on Tuesday evening.
According to Hussain, he was offering water to the people when four armed motorcyclists came and shot the victims.
Although Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wasan and law enforcement agencies claimed to have apprehended about 51 suspects, which they said included the alleged shooters, none of them were nominated in the FIR.
Four men were also taken into custody on the same day from Numaish Chowrangi but they too were not nominated in the FIR. However, DSP Ghulam Murtaza said that the suspects were being investigated and will be booked if found to be involved in the violence.
Rioting
On Tuesday morning a separate case for arson was registered at Brigade police station under Sections 147, 148, 149, 435 of the PPC and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act against 200 unidentified men allegedly involved in the rioting that followed the killing.
According to District East SP Abdul Salam Sheikh, the police will continue to nominate suspects and arrest them as they get more information from the closed-circuit footage at Numaish Chowrangi.
