Transfers and postings: 23 promoted to grade 22

ISLAMABAD:


Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has approved the promotion of the 22 officers to Federal Secretary (BS-22) and equivalent level posts on the recommendations of the selection board.


Two Foreign Service officers, Attiya Mahmood and Fauzia M Sana, four Audit and Accounts officers, Muhammad Junaid, Fahimullah Khattak, Asif Usman Khan, Ghulam Abbas Nakai, two Police Service of Pakistan officers Tahir Arif, Zahid Mahmood and fourteen Secretariat Group officers, Naved Arif, Mumtaz Haider Rizvi, Gul Mohammad Rind, Ch Mohammad Azam, Sh Anjam Bashir, Munawar Opel, Saeed Ahmad Alvi, Nadeem Ashraf,Qasim Mohammad Niaz,Taimur Azmat Osman, Shaigan Shareef Malik, Nazrat Bashir, Amjad Nazir, Nazir Saeed have been promoted to BS-22.

Ghulam Rasool Ahsan, a BS-21 officer of Secretariat Group, presently posted as Chairman, State Engineering Corporation has been promoted to BS-22 and posted as Secretary National Regulations and Services Division.

The government has terminated the contract appointment of Lt General (retd) Athar Ali as Defense Division secretary with effect from November 25. Lt General (retd) Khalid Naeem Lodhi has been appointed Defence Secretary on contract basis.

The Establishment Division issued notifications of retirement of various officers, including Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Salman Sadique on January 21, Agriculture Policy Chairman Mussadaq Mohammad Khan on January 18, Senior Joint Secretary Javed Iqbal on Feburary 06 and Federal Ombudsman’s Secretariat Karachi Director General Ishart Ahmed.

Moreover, Iftikhar Ahmed Soomro, a BS-20 officer of Pakistan Science Foundation, has been transferred as Member (Technical) in the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) on deputation.

Imdad Ali Sheikh, a BS-20 Audit and Accounts officerposted as Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution Director General (F&A) in Karachi has been repatriated to the Auditor General of Pakistan office.

Also, National Vocational and Technical Education Commission Director General Nyla Qureshi has been transferred and posted as Prime Minister’s Secretariat joint secretary, while Dr Zahid Larik, a BS-19 officer at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, has been transferred and posted as personal the federal minister for interprovincial coordination’s staff officer.
