The Deputy Commissioner National Security of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) Peter Drennin on Friday formally inaugurated a new Genetic Analyzer Machine. Donated to the Pakistan National Forensic Science Agency (PNFSA) by the Australian government, machine costs $250,000.
Honouring Pakistani police officers killed in terrorist incidents at a memorial ceremony held at the agency’s office, Drennin said, “This is the first of many activities that we envisage will positively impact the relationships between the two forensic agencies,” said Drennin.
He also said AFP is also going to enhance the forensic capacity of Pakistani agencies through a series of training courses that will be held in Australia, he added.
In a practical sign of support, Drennin inaugurated a new Genetic Analyser machine to enhance the forensic capacity of PNFSA.
Drennin was in Pakistan to participate in the 2nd Australia-Pakistan 1.5 Track Security Dialogue.
