SHEIKHUPURA: Police have severely tortured two laborers, who have been accused of stealing money, at the behest of a former city nazim’s brother in Sheikhupura, Express News reported on Friday.

A police official of the B-Division Police Station, along with other policemen, tortured the two labourers for over an hour, after which they were thrown into lockup.

The two men, who were identified as Maqsood and Sarwar, were accused of stealing Rs633,000 from Mian Aslam’s cement warehouse. Both men have been reported to be working at the warehouse for 20 years.

Station House Office (SHO) Naimat Gujjar later released the two laborers after a citizen intervened in the matter.

Maqsood was later shifted to the Surgical Ward of DHQ Hospital and Sarwar returned home.

Maqsood claims the warehouse owner had accused him of the crime and had forcibly transferred his house to his name.

Zulm everywhere. No good guys vs bad guys.. Hard to support Pak's security services, even in the war on terror, when they too indulge in brutality and corruption.

Police is the most corrupt and cruel institution of Pakistan. The government does not want to change the system because they use the corrupt police and the machinery for their political gains and work. Shame on the police and government.
