Pakistan Women pulled off a three-wicket win over South Africa to reach the final of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier where they will take on West Indies.

Pakistan got off to a disastrous start while chasing 181 as they lost two wickets for just two runs in the second over. Captain Sana Mir and Nida Dar were dismissed without scoring and Qanita Jalil was sent back for 10 with Pakistan reeling at 22 for three.

Bismah Maroof (23), Nain Abidi (29) and Javeria Khan (47) then revived Pakistan’s run-chase and despite a flurry of wickets late in the day, an unbroken 41-run eighth wicket partnership between Marina Iqbal and Asmavia Iqbal guided Pakistan through.

Earlier, Pakistan made early breakthroughs after South Africa opted to bat first and reduced their opponents to 75 for four by the 29th over. Asmavia grabbed three wickets for just 15 runs and Mir grabbed a brace as South Africa failed to get a move on and could only manage 180 off their quota.

In the other semi-final, West Indies beat Sri Lanka by 58 runs.
