Cricket: Multan, Islamabad record wins

LAHORE: Multan Region continued their good form at the National U-19 Women T20 Championship, outclassing Faisalabad Region by 68 runs. Batting first, Multan scored 131 for the loss of six wickets, with the help of Areeb Shamim’s 54. In reply, Faisalabad failed to pose any threat and collapsed for a paltry 63. Shamim was declared the player of the match. In the second match of the day, Islamabad Region won a close encounter beating Abbottabad Region by one wicket. Abbottabad were bundled out for just 65, before Islamabad struggled to chase down the small total, losing nine wickets in the process and finally winning in 14.3 overs. Abbottabad’s Sadia was in brilliant form taking a five-wicket haul and was declared the player of the match.
