Interest-Free: Sindh flood-hit farmers to get loans

ISLAMABAD: Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) is likely to announce shortly interest-free loans for flood-hit farmers in Sindh. An official of ZBTL told APP here on Wednesday that in this regard, the bank had received directions from State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). He said the first meeting of Board of Directors (BoD) of the bank was held at Lahore to work out the mechanism for distribution of loans to the affected farmers. He said the bank was in contact with different organisations which had worked for relief of flood-affected people to get data of most flood-hit areas in the province. The official added that as soon as the mechanism for the disbursement of loans was completed, the bank would contact to Ministry of Finance for funds. He said that most probably, the process of distributing loans would start in December this year.
