Muttahida Qaumi Movement deputy conveners Dr Farooq Sattar and Anis Qaimkhani have written a letter to Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and President Asif Ali Zardari about what they said were the inflammatory statements being made by former Sindh home minister Zulfiqar Mirza.
The two MQM leaders have asked the recipients of the letter to take action against Mirza for “maligning the image of [party chief] Altaf Hussain by misleading the people by speaking blatant lies and accusing him of being a separatist without any substantive proof.”
A statement issued by the MQM also notes that while Mirza had made these claims and cited Pir Mazharul Haq as a witness, Haq has denied the allegations made by Mirza and asked him to seek forgiveness. PRESS RELEASE
