The pass percentage for intermediate Part I examination at the boards of secondary and intermediate education in Multan and Bahawalpur increased slightly when retabulated results were announced on Wednesday.
Multan board rechecked 54,820 papers. The pass percentage, according to the results compiled earlier, was 41.79. It now stands at 42.31 per cent. In Bahawalpur, the pass percentage increased to 33.98 from 33.69.
Results of 4,852 candidates were changed during the rechecking with 156 candidates, who had flunked earlier, getting enough marks to pass the exams. All told, marks obtained by 4,101 students increased.
The Bahawalpur BISE held a function to announce the re-tabulated results in which Provincial Minister for Education Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman was the chief guest. The Multan board, on the other hand, chose to update the results on its website. No official of the board was available for comment. The Multan and Bahawalpur boards announced the results after 35 days of being directed to recheck papers. The Punjab government had given the boards a 45-day deadline.
Dera Ghazi Khan board is yet to announce re-tabulated results.
