In order to make the rally at Jinnah Stadium a success, the local administration ordered the heads of all government schools to send students of grades 8, 9 and 10 to the rally, but not dressed in their uniforms. However, the plan was accidentally exposed when a large number of students reached the rally in their school uniforms.
According to Express 24/7 reporter Rabia Mehmood, teachers with banners from the Muslim Teacher Association were also present at the rally, which was likely affiliated with the PML-N.
Students told reporters that they were asked by the school to attend the rally after changing out of their uniforms at home, but most of them reached the venue directly without changing. They added that school administrators threatened to mark students absent if they did not attend the rally. They also complained that they were not properly looked after and there were no arrangements either for food, drinks or security at the rally.
According to reports, heads of schools said that they were not threatened to take this step. PML-N leaders addressing the rally said they had no idea about this plan. The District Coordination Officer (DCO) could not be reached for comments.
The PML-N had earlier claimed that the rally would have more than 25,000 participants and would be led by former federal minister Ghulam Dastgir and his son Khurram Dastgir.
This rally was reported to be a part of the preparation for a grand rally on November 25.

I wouldn't expect anything positive from PML(n), sparing SS's wholehearted efforts of course. I dont doubt the sincerity of any of policical parties, but PML(n) in specific , lack the long term strategic vision for Pakistan! and this is clear if one looks at their hisotry of lack of efforts for socio-policitcal integration, focus on 'give money to people' rather than 'manage public resources', and inherrent punjab-centered approach in all spheres.
@Majid:
of course they are happy, what else a young student wants but off the school for a day. I am witness myself. In Islamabad, from a private school (owner and principal was from N-league) and would used to take us for N gatherings.
Express tribune give me a freaking break! stop supporting pti unless it becomes a party and has people who can actually run the country and is not just a pawn of the army, imran khan who has been speaking against feudals and corruption now has landlords like shah mehmood qureshi and peer pagaras grandson! and oh it doesn't surprise me why you never come up with something that compares the perfomance of the punjab govt with all the others , pml n is not perfect but it much better than the others!
For all the anti-PTI pro PML-Ns....I am gathering volunteers for PTI's 25th December Jalsa. Even though we needed volunteers and a lot of students put up their names but we politely declined their assistance because of the upcoming exams in the institutes. I am saying this on record, anyone having any proof against me should provide the evidence here. THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE between PTI and PML-N
Look at the future of nation...!!!!
If the reporting is false the paper ought to be sued. Why do I sense this is not going to happen?
True or false the real tragedy is that school children CAN be forced like this. Any administration that has behaved like this should be taken to court.
Poor Sharifs, trying hard to outpace PTI but with negative energy..... Shame on you PML N
PML - N has foundations by a millitary dictator who changed the course books so kids are taught now to think out of box. It is just a part of this parties upbringing, you brainwash the kids and they will never question you ... and sad that it will also help them in getting to power in future.
@Majid: How lonely are you feeling right now? Also there's an effective way to do net propaganda and an ineffective way. Want to guess which one you are doing?
PML-N is good in such things. Why everybody is surprised?
What's the problem...if all government servants are forced to attend the jalsa....all local government is used to stage the jalsa...all buses are picked up and confiscated forcefully 3 days before the jalsa...so what the problem if these kids get a school day off and a plate of free biryani with pick and drop....its a free picnic....government arranged...the parents, teachers and the kids should be happy...why is the media getting so upset about it.
This report has truly exposed the vote bank & popularity of PML(N) in punjab.
Don't expect civilised and honest means from Nawaz League to gather crowds to further its political agenda. After all, its leaders have been in power twice (and kicked out as many numbers as well) and they are very experienced in such tactics. Doesn't matter, let them use all these foul practices, ML-N is not coming into power. That's what is written on the wall.
no one forced them its a conspiracy.. when Kids attend PTI jalsa then its PTI support when Kids attend PMLN jalsa, they are forced. Be real !
If Shah Mahmood Qureshi will join PTI he will become most-clean politician in the history of Pakistan and if he join PMLN, he will become most-corrupt politician.. Great way of judging politicians invented by Imran Khan. Balay balay :)
BTW kids love to hang out !
@waqar: I don't know why u are so eager for PML-N to come again??.. Have u forgotten that it was PML-N first who sold PAkistan's economic sovereignty to the IMF??... Have u forgotten the kargil war??.. Have u forgotten PML-N's attack on supreme court??.. Have u forgotten that it was because of the policies of ur beloved party that pakistan was almost a bankrupt country in 1999??.. Have u forgotten that how people's bank accounts were frozen??... common dude.... Try to change ur self..
@waqar: lolz.. U are contradicting ur self. U look as disillusioned as ur PML-N is. First u say that There are many negative reports in the media regarding PTI as well and then u are saying that PTI is feeding money to media, with the help of establishment... common man...
Is this a surprise?
I don't know how many of them got how much money from Imran Khan's charity fund to make propaganda against PML(N)
@waqar: It seems that you have not read this paper. Express Tribune has more critical on PTI than it has ever been on PMLN.
@Karachite: there are thousands reports published against PTI, you never have the courage to cmment on them.
and yes these reports are biased, establishment is paying money to Media to create these report in the media to malign PML(N).
your PTI will be burried in grave-yard along with your establishment inshallah. keep feeding money to media, you dirty establishment,
u could stop hurricane but u can't stop imran khan from gettin success...
@waqar:
So please dont deviate from the report. Is this true or not ?? Why dont you answer that ? Instead of crying and calling people biased why wont you tell the PML N shame shame first ?
His son is Khurran Dastageer and not Khawar Dastageer... MNA! Spell the name right!
just four words for pml-n and mr waqar and 16 ppl who "liked it" i hope they werent threatned.. but "PTI PTI HAI BOSS"
we knew that :-)
Fact: Punjab government is paying Rs.2000/8hr shift, to troll on FB on news site as part of CM social media team.......Many many PML-N "supporters" are going to appear on the internet..You have been warned...
True that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GBJ5AgKZpA
yea yea everyone is biased towards.. nawaz and co..they have never put a foot wrong.. completely innocent.... "janat key Thotay!"... person gives 5000 rs tax and yet can spend lakhs on having the bald patch covered..with dark hair.. pml n experts in jet black hair along with wigs..mr bean! lol
biased as it gets i think there were some more worthy news items to be posted on your main page.
@waqar: I don't see any biased reporting, you can clearly see 8th, 9th and 10th graders in photos and i am sure they have any clue what PMLN is. The kids showing up in their school uniforms proves that they have been forced by their teachers to attend the rally, we all know that high schoolers are not mature enough to understand the politics. Sorry to say, but now PMLN is using cheap tricks to gather crowd. PMLN leaders should be ashamed that they had people in their crowd who have nothing to do with politics, they are not even eligible for voting yet. PMLN is going down hill day by day.
Guys, extra curricular activities are very important, and occasionally taking part in a political rallies is a healthy activity. It inflicts a confidence and sense of inspiration in young guns about politics and democracy.
They are losing their heads. Sharifs this is not Pakistan of 93 with PTV
@Majid: Why wouldn't the students have fun! they are missing school, obviously its more important to miss class to attend a rally since education isn't that important right? Students should take part in political activities but there are two important factors that need to be considered, one they should not be forced, and two they should be old enough to at least vote. Most of the kids are young and can't even vote!
What can I say? nawaz sharif WE just wanna tell you one thing. YOU simply cannot stop this tsunami. we all are with IMRAN KHAN our leader. stop doing this raiwind politics.. IMRAN will sweep next elections..did you HEAR that?
@Majid: the students were happy not to have to go to school.Send them to a mela daily instead, they have no problems. The parents should protest. Im never ever voting for PML N ,otherwise theyll just keep doing crap like this
shut the heck up pmln supporters, if this news is fake then pmln leadership should send a notice to remove it just like PTI did to sunday time.. PTI rocks
This sort of Mafia attitude can be expected from all the old parties. News Flash: Your time is up, go take a back seat and enjoy the rest of the show.
students are not a part of patwaris! that is why they were forced.
Of course the students learnt more at the rally than they would have at the school right?
wow.... Actually they had to give a befitting reply to I.K that the youth are with NS not with PTI.
Students should take part in political activities. They are our future generation. Looking at pictures, it does not look students were forced. They are looking happy. People of Gujranwala love PMLN. For direct news about what is going on in Gujranwala, please follow PMLN Stalwart Engg. Khurram Dastagir Khan on twitter @kdastgirkhan .
Never voting for you ever again PML-N (not that I used to or wanted to or was inclined to ever in my life).
PML(N) tried all steps to beat PTI, but failed to do so, because no one could stop the tsunami of PTI supporters.
IMRAN KHAN ROCKS
PAKISTAN ZINDABAD
An other example of Khadam-e-Ala's good governance.
Surprise Surprise
biased reporty by tribune, just to promote the PTI, go low and go very low, but PTI will be rip apart come the election Inshallah by PML(N).
all the media and establishemnt can go for the walk, PTI will be torn to pieces and establishment will learn a lesson of not making another Kings party aka PML(Q) Part 2
