ATC frames charges against TNSM chief in MPA's murder

Court issues warrants against the witnesses to be produced before the court by December 12.

PESHAWAR: An Anti-Terrorism Court has framed charges against the chief of Tehrik-e-Nifaz Shariah-e-Muhammadi Maulana Sufi Muhammad in the murder case of a member of the provincial assembly.

The hearing was held inside Peshawar Central Jail due to security concerns.

Sources said that Justice Asim Imam of the ATC presided over the hearing of the case filed against Muhammad for his alleged involvement in the murder of Badiuzzaman, an MPA who belonged to Kalam.

Three other cases were also heard but the witnesses could not appear before the court.

The court issued warrant against the witnesses to be produced before the court by December 12.

Earlier, the ATC adjouned the hearing against Muhammad over his alleged involvement in an attack on a police station in Kabal.

Apart from the said case, nine different charges have been framed against the leader of the banned outfit.
