‘At least 150 lawmakers received death threats’
At least 150 parliamentarians have received death threats through text messages, asking them to resign or face death, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said while talking to the media.
These parliamentarians include members of the Senate, National Assembly and the provincial assemblies, Malik said, adding that security forces, with the help of the Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency, had arrested two suspects involved in sending threats from Larkana.
According to preliminary investigation, the suspects used National Identity Cards of detained individuals to obtain cellular phone sims.
Musharraf, Aziz and Mumbai
Regarding the issuance of red warrants for former President Pervez Musharraf in Benazir Bhutto assassination and Akbar Bugti murder case, Malik said authorities concerned were directed to work with the Interpol to issue a red notice for Musharraf’s and former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz’s extradition.
On the Mumbai attacks probe, Malik said almost all legal formalities were complete and a probe commission would soon be sent to India.
The ministry has written a letter to Indian authorities to identify the place for holding the proceedings of the judicial commission, he said, adding that Pakistan is waiting for India’s reply. “The commission will be sent to India within a week of receiving the response from the Indian side,” he said.

It shows the state of Law & Order in the Country, personally i feel sorry for ordinary citizens as they have no chance of receiving justice or security !!
It’s easy to trace the phones used for sending those threats. Arrest the culprits and punish them. Why is the government so lame?
If death threat looms large on the law makers in Pakistan, what about the general public who can only pray to Almighty for their safety.
The News headline should be "At Least 150 LAW-Breakers received Death Threats". They are not lawmakers, they are the blood-suckers of Pakistani economy and resources, Insha Allah they will reap whatever they have sowed.
Unfortunately the threats just remained threats... didn't materialize!
The law-makers don't have to worry. They have foreign passports and huge unexplained money. They can always take a flight like Farah Naz Isphahani ( wife of Hussain Haqqani). Terrorists will do a favour to poor people of this country.
