SHCBA Elections: Mansoor Khan elected managing committee president

Out of 1,358 members of the association, 1,041 cast their votes.

Anwar Mansoor Khan was elected president of the managing committee of the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) on Saturday. Khan’s convincing victory was achieved with 512 votes over Aamir Raza Naqvi’s 352 votes.


Out of the 1,358 members of the association, 1,041 cast their votes. According to the officially announced results, third presidential candidate Yawar Farooqui received only 173 votes.

Ashiq Ali Anwar Rana was elected vice-president with 546 votes over 439 votes of Syed Tauqeer Hussain.  Shahab Sarki defeated Zulfiqar K Jatoi with only two votes over Jatoi’s 419.

Ayaz Ahmed Ansari had already been declared as the unopposed joint secretary.

Election Commissioner Akhtar Ali Mahmud told The Express Tribune that his team had decided that no one would be allowed to influence lawyers’ votes within the premises of polling station.
