Firing Pharmacists: Health secy issued notice for Nov 23
LAHORE:
Justice Umar Ata Bandial of the Lahore High Court suspended termination orders of 68 ad-hoc pharmacists and issued notice to the health secretary on a contempt of court petition for November 23. Pharmacists submitted in their petition that the matter of whether or not they should be regularised was pending before the court and the health secretary had been asked not to take any action against them until the case was decided. They said that despite the order, the health secretary had terminated their services last week. Petitioners prayed to the court to set aside their termination as being unlawful and to initiate contempt proceedings against the respondent secretary.
