LAHORE: Around 17 suspected terrorists including three Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commanders were arrested in Punjab, Express 24/7 reported on Wednesday.

According to police, several mobile phones and laptops were seized from these suspects.

Express 24/7 correspondent Rabia Mehmood reported that these terrorists were arrested from different parts of Punjab including Lahore, Multan and Okara.

The TTP commanders include Qari Muhammad Ashraf, Dr Abdul Khaliq and Mohammad Sarfraz.

One of the TTP commander Ashraf was a close accomplice of Dr Usman, who was accused of involvement in 2009 GHQ attack in which heavily-armed militants wearing suicide vests, attacked the headquarters in Rawalpindi and held off army commandos for hours.

Sources said that the arrested TTP commanders previously belonged to the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, a banned militant outfit.

Unfortunately, it is quite common to hear about terrorist activities in the northern region, but the growing number of terrorists in other parts of the country sends a chilling warning to the government of Pakistan. The time to act is now, and these terrorists need to be made aware that law and order are in place, and serious repercussions are waiting for those who commit crimes. They will not have it their way, and those who continue to carry forward their evil agenda will be brought to justice and strictly punished. This news should be heard with joy because quite possibly these terrorists could have been responsible for the killings of innocents in the near future. Their counterparts have been on a mission to disrupt the peace throughout the region. Our forces along with innocent civilians are regularly attacked, and it is only fair that no leniency is shown in dealing with these terrorists. Thousands of lives have already been lost to their acts of terror, and friends and family members of those killed are still waiting to receive justice. At times like this, we need to remind ourselves that the truth is right in front of us, and that shifting our attention towards conspiracy theories will only help our enemies to succeed.

Please, do not say: “They are not muslims as muslims cannot be terrorists.” May be, Shabaz Sheriff and Rana Sanaullah shall organize Long March in their support and lawyers shower rose petals. Zaid Hamid shall have a special enlightening and educational show on the mainstream TV and will start with “samajne ke koshish kejiye”.

BWT, I feel pity for Imran Khan. In the recent interview with Karan Thapar on CNN/IBN he had to admit that he is afraid of his life in Pakistan if he takes a stand against terrorists. Feel so sorry for him. He is the only hope for Pakistan and I am sure Pakistan shall erupt in his support if something happens to him. May Allah protect him and also give him the wisdom and courage to lead Pakistan in the changed new world.

“why people of pakistan who pay taxes and get killed by these terrorist cant see their face when arrested”.

Pakistan has 187 million people and only 1.5 million people pay taxes. SO the number of people who fall in your ‘people who pay taxes’ is very small.

Is killing Hazara Shias considerd ‘peaceful’ in your opinoin? Interesting. No wonder you describe Islam as a religion of peace. With this definition of peace where you are considered peaceful if you kill anyone who doesn’t share your exact belief system, Islam IS truly peaaceful.
