QUETTA: A complete shutter-down strike was observed on Monday in Dera Allahyar against the increasing incidents of kidnapping for ransom. Enraged protesters also blocked off the national highway, disrupting the flow of traffic between interior Sindh and Balochistan near Dera Allahyar. The strike was called by Jammat-i-al Sunnat and was backed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and the traders’ union. They demanded the immediate release of kidnapped trader Israr Ahmed Khosa, who was kidnapped about two weeks ago from Dera Allahyar.
