LAHORE:

Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Monday took suo motu notice of a shootout at the Rawalpindi district courts in which four people were killed and summoned the Punjab Inspector General of police (IGP) on November 18.

The chief justice also directed LHC Human Rights and Vigilance Cell Director General Kazim Ali Malik to hold an inquiry and submit his report.

The CJ said the inquiry must be focused on the mode and manner of the incident and personnel who failed to discharge their obligations. He also invited proposals in order to avoid such incidents on court premises in the future and action on judicial or administrative side against those responsible.
