Fatal Accident: Toddler drowns in open drain

The baby was playing outside her house when she slipped.

SUKKUR: A little girl, Ruqaiya, aged one and a half years, died when she fell into an open drain in Pathan Colony, in Rohri, on Friday night.  She was playing outside her house when she slipped. Her body was found 50 metres away. She was taken to Taluka Hospital, Rohri where she was pronounced dead. The drain, three feet wide and four feet deep, carries waste water to the River Indus and is uncovered in many places.
