ISLAMABAD: National Counter-Terrorism Authority Coordinator (NACTA) Tariq Pervez resigned from his post on Tuesday.

His resignation was sent to the establishment division and now Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani is expected to announce a new coordinator for NACTA soon.

Sources said Tariq Pervez wanted NACTA to work directly under the  prime minister rather than the Interior Ministry and wanted all four chief ministers to be its members.

Pakistan and the US had also stressed on joint collaboration of NACTA and its US counterpart NCTC during their recent strategic dialogue.
