ISTANBUL: Four or five hijackers claiming to be Kurdish rebels seized control on Friday of a ferry carrying 20 passengers and crew off northwestern Turkey, said Turkish Transport Minister Binali Yildirim.

“We think they are four or five... They say they belong to a branch of the terrorist organisation,” he told ATV television station, naming it as the military command of the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
