MULTAN: Senior PML-N Leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi was hospitalised early Tuesday morning following a stroke.

Hashmi was at home in Multan when suddenly he fell down and became unconscious. He was immediately rushed to the Nishtar Hospital's emergency ward where doctors performed a CT Scan and declared his condition out of danger.

Hashmi's close relatives have also confirmed that it was a minor stroke and that his condition is now stable.

However doctors say they will take further medical tests and keep Hashmi under observation for the next 24 hours. PML-N's local leadership and workers have gathered outside the hospital.

PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif appealed to the nation to pray for Hashmi's early recovery.
