Amin Fahim said that Bangladesh had neither opposed Pakistan on the issue of attaining concessions for Pakistani products in the WTO nor raised a voice in favour of Pakistan.
He said, “According to the WTO rules and regulations, it is inevitable to have the moral support of member countries.”
“The reservations of Bangladesh would be removed by winning its support and favour in consultation with other partners,” he added.
Amin Fahim said that the government would try its best to attain the moral support of Bangladesh in this regard. However, this matter had been delayed for some time due to a lack of support of Bangladesh, he said.

@MH: Shame that you did not recognize their concerns in 1970, as than perhaps their may not have been BD !!!
@Sharif: No hard feelings but can you give me the links when Pakistan objected tariff related facilities of WTO offered to Bangladesh?
And this is for you. A small gesture but tells you something. Bangladesh also buys raw cotton from Pakistan for its textile products and cotton traders of Pakistan always offered cotton to Bangladesh on competitive rates in order to allow it to compete in the international market with less cost, he maintained. http://www.brecorder.com/business-a-economy/single/672/189/1250373/
@Hedgefunder: We are not a bully nation. Obviously we will seek support. Pakistan is only shocked but have not bad mouthed Bangladesh. We do recognize their concerns and we will try to remove it.
@csmann:
What can we offer Bangladesh in your opinion?
@Sharif: Ok we got it. It's tit for tit policy. We will return the favour. Best wishes for your nations as well.
@ csmann from where the hell India has come into this topic secondly if you do not understand then i tell you India is fighting proxy war through afghans in pakistan ..just look at the numbers of Indian officals in afghanistan they are not there for party.India wants to be what china is but they can not for many reasons. you do not need to tell Bangladeshi people what India is they got boarders wtih you too...
@Sharif: well,pakistan is known only to take,not give back;look at recent MFN status to india,which india gave to them 1996.And you have mentioned WTO;so it goes on in their policy on america-yes we want your money,but forget about taking care of terroristsl because they happen to be out allies-a typical spoiled child on the block
I am a Bangladeshi. I'd like to remind our Pakistani friends of an incidence in 2005 in WTO. It's Pakistan who opposed some tariff related facilities of WTO offered to Bangladesh. As a result of that opposition such benefit was never granted to BD.
Today is Nov 12th. It's a day of cyclone in 1970. More than half a million of coastal people were dead, and yet, Pakistani govt. froze millions of foreign aids meant for the cyclone victims because BD people wanted an election of majority! We have tons of thorns in our memory. Let's not forget the economic exploitations which Pakistan committed in 23 years of "Muslim brotherhood(!)" with us and horrific genocides in 1971. Only ~23% ADP used to be spent in BD while it used to earn ~56% of foreign exports. Let's not just blame India for what happen since 1946. India just took the opportunity of them..
Pls. let's remember our past doings but together look for a better friendship of future..
Best wishes for all Pakistani people. Salam.
didn't we hear pakistan is not interested in trade;well,then when they stick to a statement
So time has come to seek Support, rather than demand as your god given right !!!! This just shows, how far the sibling has developed into a successful Nation and Economic Hub in the region in such a short spell of time, while Pakistan has only gone backwards in terms of progress, and become dependent on Aid and Handouts from the Global Community !!!
