A man axed his wife with the help of his friends after declaring her to be a ‘kari’ on Wednesday.
Police officials have arrested the accused.
According to police officials, Sube Da city resident Allah Dewaya recently filed a written complaint detailing that his daughter Hajil Mai was murdered by her husband Mukhtar Ahmed. Dewaya told police officials that Mukhtar Ahmed, 22, used to torture and beat his daughter Hajil Mai. “He kept accusing her of having had an affair even though he usually kept her locked up in the house for the duration of their marriage,” he said.
On Tuesday, Ahmed allegedly announced to their neighbourhood that his wife was a ‘kari’ and had an affair with their neighbour, Waleed. Waleed is said to have fled after the accusation.
Ahmed and seven of his friends slaughtered his wife in the courtyard of their house with sickles, knives and an axe.
Police officials said that there were several eyewitnesses. “He announced what he was going to do and because he is a landlord, we were too scared to interfere. Someone called the police though,” said a local resident Ashraf.
Neighbours told police officials that a few weeks ago Mukhtar had turned his wife out of the house and she had begun staying with her parents.
“He brought her back home a week ago but locked her up again,” said a neighbour Nazia.
Police said that there were conflicting accounts of the murder as several villagers said that they had witnessed the slaughter and others said that the girl had committed suicide.
“We have sent the body for an autopsy,” police official Rahman said.

As long as muslims continue to kill anyone who leaves islam,try to force sharia law on the world, teach their children to hate anyone who isn't a muslim, move to western countries and live off of taxpayer money, marry young girls, etc. I'll never believe that islam is peaceful.
These are sick men who need medical/mental attention. no matter how illiterate a person is, only a mentally sick person would go the extra mile to kill someone. unfortunately the desi wives are too scared to step up against their husbands if they face any violence or abuse..and in the end, they end up being killed or burned.

its a shame most of these people are born into this and taught from the time they are a child this is right;its a society of men that wants to dominate .useing there so called religion as an excuse. these poor women are scared to death of being killed . how horrible this must be for them.I do believe some how these people will be judged for this. the sad part is the women is traped an cant get away; ,.
these sick traditions are from our culture not religion, we are heavily influenced by hindu culture that has "sati" and several other demeaning traditions.

thats what i am talking about, these failures are because of misguidance from the actual teachings of Islam. Practices like this have nothing to do Islam. i don't know why such issues are associated to Islam every time.
@JaySabir: We also need to see both what sort of values a certain ideology or religion as well as culture may promote. Why we don't find honour killings among buddhists (or Christians) and why only among Muslims? Whether Islam preaches peace or not does not matter: I'm more concerned with what happens in practice and that's what matters.

@Amjad: Barbarians have nothing to do with Islam or being Muslims. Islam teaches peace. Its a misery that people like us are deviating from its actual teaching and when we get stumbled on our ways, we point our fingers to Islam.

Sad that Muslim people never change. An Afghani man in Canada is currently on trial for killing his wife and three daughters in a so called honour killing.
A friend in need is a friend indeed. But unfortunately not these ones.

i am sure the issue of suicide and murder will be decided soon by the medical examiner;i hope ,the murderers get the wrath of 'kali' in the way of legal punishment to these beasts.
