Militants blow up girls school in Mardan
Sources said the school's status was recently upgraded from middle to high school and added that it was the only high school for girls in the area.
They said that the militants tied about 8-10 kilogrammes of explosives to the outer walls of the school which exploded with a bang at 30 minutes past midnight and panicked the residents.
Station House Officer (SHO) Katlang police station Sher Rehman told The Express Tribune that three among the total five rooms, built recently, collapsed where the remaining two were badly damaged and cannot be used any more.
The area is situated at a few miles from the Malakand Agency where militants, in an earlier operation called “Rah-e-Rast,” destroyed more than 420 schools including 300 schools for girls.

According to terrorists and rightwing parties, it must be the US drone attacks and not Taliban who are angels. Thanks for drones otherwise our army would not establish its writ in the FATA. This lawless area is free for all terrorists and they target little girls and civilians in Pakistan to wage a Jihad against America!
No doubt the Govt will go round with bigger begging bowl asking for funds to rebuild it !!! The question is why don;t they provide security and maintain Law & Order in the se areas????
According to the news above, these terrorists are responsible for destroying more than “420” schools, including “300” schools for girls. If that alone doesn’t depict their hatred against society, then we should remind ourselves that the ones being affected are the innocent school going children. We’ve heard numerous accounts of Taliban forcefully recruiting little boys to carry out their terrorists activities, while depriving them of childhood and sacrificing their lives for their own evil agenda. These evil minded terrorists have left little to ponder regarding their dark motives, and day by day it’s becoming clearer that they are busy uprooting our society. This latest attack not only reminds but reiterates that these terrorists need to be confronted with an iron fist to prevent future attacks like this one from recurring. The children are the future of our society, and those who are seeking ways to destroy our future must be dealt with harshly. Their cowardly ways are no surprise to any of us, but attacking schools only translates to acting scared and cowardly. The reality is that our forces continue to tighten the grip around their neck, and our efforts continue to push them towards defeat. The days are not far when peace will fully prevail and our forces will make the region free and clear of terrorism.
You guys have got it all wrong. Please stop complaining. Our Govt. has decided to talk to our own people (snakes) so these poor innocent people(snakes in the backyard) have been trying to clear areas to hold these meetings. Dont blame them. Just see their single minded devotion to the talks.

@Saeed: Why not talk about firkas? I love the way we say "Lets not talk about firkas," when the the main issue lies with the firkas and the petro dollars that are fueling it. Until Muslims admit that we have an issue with some elements (firkas) we can never move on. The western media has already picked up on it and I am pleasantly surprised that even the western media in all their ignorance about Islam now know the difference between firkas and who are advocates of violence. Its time we look at ourselves also. Oops! But we can do that because we aren't capable of having a civil dialogue without and you guessed it, calling one group kafir or a non-muslim and then blowing up their places of worship.

Have you ever thought why any muslim country is not included in the list of developed countries? Middle eastern countries may have petrol money but if the expatriates and westerners leave, they will have to go back to sheep herding. The main reason is not using their own human resources and depending heavily on foreigners. Men and women think differently, tackle issues differently and have different world views. Both kinds of thinking are needed to develop a society. Men and women are like both sides of the brain. Both sides are needed for a well-functioning body. In muslim countries, the contributions of women are so low as they are not educated or not brought into the work force. The few who gets higher education still like to remain as house wives. So in a way half of the human resources remain dormant without much contribution to the society. In western countries women look after their families and also go out and work. Both husband and wife share the responsibilities of raising children and doing house work. Men do cook, clean dishes, do laundry etc. which are considered as duties of women in muslim countries. Unless muslim men realize the potential of women, share house hold responsibilities, educate women and bring them into the work force, the muslim countries will never come under the umbrella of developed countries.
Until Muslims learn to let their females breathe free. Islam shall remain mired in wilderness! How can someone live with himself in Islam? It is smothering, stifling, bestial!

We have to kill these militants. We cannot talk to them. Either they forego violence and face justice or be killed and their bodies buried in the same schools that they have destroyed.

Oh yes, the cowards that blow up girls schools every second day are worthy partners to nrgotiate with. We have being gone on and on about negotiating and giving peace a chance, and this is the response! How many more schools have to go up in flames? Government should decide immediately and should stop the children going to school for the sake of their lives .and make hostels in rest of the provinces to accomodate the girls,and continue their educations.this is necessary for girls as they will be future mothers.and raise children in a better environments ,i know they are few in numbers as mostly dont go to school.This will not be difficult for the government we can help them if we put our mind to it. The government should not allow them to be "BALI" to please these satans.

who are the militants? are they, africans, americans, indonesians, arabs..the fact is that they are Pakistanis and we have fostered them ,clinton has rightly said about the snakes in our backyard.They are poisonous reptiles and are crawling every where and needs to be sprayed.Believe me if you will offer and assure them to send their daughters to America for higher educations and that "nothing" bad will happen to them there, they will make a deal with you and will thank you.
