Proclaimed offender: ‘Mani Murda’ behind bars

Accused bore head money of Rs200,000; wanted by Sialkot police for over 16 counts robbery, murder and kidnapping.

SIALKOT: Kotwali police have arrested a notorious proclaimed offender Imran alias ‘Mani Murda’. According to police officials, the accused bore head money worth Rs200,000 and was wanted by Sialkot police for over 16 counts robbery, murder and kidnapping. Sialkot DPO Bilal Sadiq Kamiyana told reporters that a special police team headed by SHO inspector Rana Zulfiqar Ali raided a den in the outskirts of the city and arrested the  accused. The DPO added that Punjab Police inspector general has awarded Rs. 0.2 million to Ali and his raiding police team along with appreciation certificates. “We have been searching gor Mani for months and now the dozens that have been victim to his crimes can finally find peace,” said SHO Ali, adding that police were conducting more operations against proclaimed offenders.
