Sentenced: 2 get death sentence, 9 get life

The court also acquitted 34 others in the case on lack of evidence and benefit of doubt.

KHANPUR: Additional District and Sessions Judge Mian Masood Hussain sentenced two men to death and awarded nine people life imprisonment in a double murder case on Saturday. According to the prosecution, the convicts had killed Riaz Ahmad and Muhammad Asghar and injured Abid Mahmood, Shabbir Hussain, Ghulam Hussain and Abdul Sattar over a property dispute in Bahinwala in 2008. Announcing the decision, the AD&SJ awarded capital punishment to Abdul Aziz and Muhammad Saleem and life terms to Abdul Karim, Haji Kalo, Ghulam Haider, Muhammad Bakhsh, Yaqoob, Abdul Rehman, Abdul Hameed, Ghulam Abbas and Ayyaz. The court also acquitted 34 others in the case on lack of evidence and benefit of doubt.
