Reporters noticed that a map in a Chinese brochure about an investment in India showed the Indian border state of Arunachal Pradesh as part of China and also challenged India's claims in the Kashmir region.
"Peppered with questions on the map showing Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh in China and Kashmir in Pakistan, Zhang Yan told the journalist to 'shut up'," the Hindustan Times reported.
Zhang later said the journalist "pushed, pushed, pushed" even when told it was "a technical issue" that would be rectified.
"We are working for friendlier ties with India... this will not help," Zhang said after his flash of temper at a news conference in a luxury hotel.
The disputed borders between India and China have been the subject of fruitless talks since 1962, when the two nations fought a brief but brutal war over the region.
The issue remains sensitive and China, which claims Arunachal Pradesh in its entirety, protested against a 2009 election campaign visit to the state by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Indian officials downplayed Thursday's incident, saying the map was not produced by the Chinese government.

What it proves: India reporters can even make a Panda act like Grizly.
Yeah, at one time, one of these "errors" resulted in Kashmir becoming part of Pakistan!
I wonder what the reaction of indians trolls here is now!
Good show by journalist. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6xLndi4NP4&feature=player_embedded
Chinese are not used to journalists asking tough questions. Ambassador forgot that he was not in China, but in India.
@Showkat Ahmad: Your own mohalla has a "distinct identity" precisely because of which it has its own "distinct" name. People from both Ladakh and Jammu don't want to have anything to do with you, in fact they even resent you. Even Gujjars and Bakkerwals, Muslims like you, say they have nothing in common with you. So, don't claim to speak on their behalf. Very easy for those Kashmiris who want freedom from India to secure it for themselves: you may pack up and leave. No one has glued you to Kashmir.
hmm..thats really uncharacteristic of the Chinese!..i think of them as a really polite bunch... but first that show of irritation with Firdaus, now this...i guess even polite ppl retaliate when provoked :)
Body Of Lies .... !!!
hahha thats a good one :)
Kashmir including Ladakh and Jammu has the distinct identity. It is neither the part of India and nor of Pakistan or China. Kashmiri's want freedom from India.
