Hanging between hope and fear: 10 rescued from cable car

ABBOTABAD: A nine-hour grueling rescue operation amid the hills of Abbottabad saved 10 people including two minors who were stranded aboard a cable car, Express 24/7 reported Tuesday.

The privately owned cable car that connects Kali Mitti and Deesaal towns was carrying the passengers when it came to a stand-still at 7:30 pm on Monday.

The dreaded passengers in the cable car were left midway on their ride, suspended at an altitude of 1,400 feet.

Rescue teams were called in from Murree and Rawalpindi, who resolved the problem.

Cramped in the cable car, the passengers braved the winter night for nine hours before they were rescued.
