Drowned Boys: Bodies still not recovered

GILGIT: The bodies of two teenage cousins who drowned while trying to cross the Gilgit River have not been recovered so far. The deceased, Masoom Hussain and Shahid Hussain, drowned in the river on Saturday evening, according to witnesses. Muhammad Mustafa, a relative of the deceased, said that both boys were intermediate students and were heading home from school after taking part in a sports competition. He said that they decided to swim across the river instead of going over the Chinar Bagh Bridge. The police said that they are searching for the bodies with the help of rescue workers and volunteers.
