A ‘tsunami’ in Lahore (III)

A ‘tsunami’ in Lahore (III)

KARACHI: Imran Khan’s rally was very impressive. Three main points are worth reiterating. The first is that he wants to bring back all the money that has been looted from the national exchequer and taken abroad. The second is his proposal that instead of SHOs, the police will have a system of sheriffs who are elected by the people, as happens in America. And the third is his pledge that the government, if his party gets to run it, will not take any loans and will be self-reliant.

Whether these happen or not, the rally will now give many a sleepless night to the PML-N, and will probably be good news for the PPP because the PML-N’s vote-bank may be dented. I would say that the PTI can expect to win some seats for sure from Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in the next election.
