Video of the day: Sign a petition, end enforced disappearances

In post 9/11 Pakistan, where every wrong is blamed on the US-led War on Terror, enforced disappearances is yet another trend.

According to reports by various international and Pakistani human rights groups, thousands of people have gone missing since the war started.

The recent Amnesty International video “Enforced disappearances in Pakistan” calls on the government of Pakistan to do more to end such disappearances.

The video also asks the people of Pakistan to raise their voice and sign Amnesty International’s petition, which it will hand deliver to the government.

The government of Pakistan had formed a judicial commission last year, for the recovery of missing people. However, the commission has failed to resolve the crisis.

This is another attempt to remind the government of its responsibility towards missing persons and their grieved families.

Video rating: Thumbs up.
