Shehzad defies Karachi Blues
Ahmed Shehzad also pressed for national selection as the opener hit 108 to help HBL reach 329 for four against Karachi Blues on the first day. Shehzad hit 18 fours in his 146-ball knock and was ably supported by Shan Masood who made a valuable contribution of 90.
Bowlers prosper on day one
Fourteen wickets fell on the opening day as Wapda were reduced to 68 for four after Rawalpindi were bundled out for a paltry 159.
PIA gain upper hand
Ali Imran Pasha claimed six for 48 as Abbottabad were dismissed for 131 in the first-innings before PIA reached 106 for three. Kamran Sajid hit an unbeaten 51 to help his side gain the upper hand on the opening day.
ZTBL on top against Islamabad
ZTBL gained a first-innings lead of 89 runs against Islamabad, reaching 212 for three with Imran Nazir managing 105 not out. Earlier, Junaid Nadir took five for 14 as ZTBL dismissed Islamabad for 123.
In another match, Mohtasham Ali and Adnan Raees both hit half-centuries as SBP reached 224 for the loss of three wickets on the opening day against Faisalabad.
