Man Asia Award: ‘Wandering Falcon’ nominated for prize
‘Wandering Falcon’ was nominated on Saturday for 2011 Man Asian Literary Prize at Singapore Writers Festival.

Pakistani author Jamil Ahmad’s novel ‘Wandering Falcon’ was nominated on Saturday for 2011 Man Asian Literary Prize at Singapore Writers Festival. The book is included among 12 nominations from Japan, Iran, China, India, Pakistan, South Korea & Bangladesh. The books deal with a wide range of subjects including the Opium Wars, Iran revolution, rise of fundamentalism, plight of aids sufferers in China as well as exploring relationships between the individual and family, and parents and children. Some 90 books were submitted for entry in 2011. A shortlist for the prize will be announced on January 10 with the winner chosen on March 15 in Hong Kong.
