Painting exhibition: Various artists display under a single roof

ISLAMABAD:


Eight limited reproductions of oil on canvas prints by Sadequain are among a multi-artist exhibition being featured at Gallery 6. The exhibition features 70 pieces by 27 national and international artists. 


Both well-known and newcomers, including students of Fatima Jinnah University Rawalpindi, are presenting their work at the exhibition which features art forms such as miniature sculpture, abstract and oil on canvas.

Sheila Raffi, an artist known for her spontaneous painting skills, showcased a sketch of a shrine in Sihala.

Australian artist Gabrielle Pool is showcasing two of her pieces, one of which depicts fertility trees in Africa that are believed to sure infertility in women. Pool, a recognised artist in the international arena, was also invited by Nelson Mandela to visit Africa. Her paintings are being sold at 50% discount and the proceeds will go to the treatment of a cancer patient.

For those interested in two-in-one miniature paintings, Nida Bangash and Usman Saeed have collaborated to produce two such paintings.

Then Imran Hunzai and Abdul Jabbar have produced wooden sculptures for those interested in installations instead of wall art.

Amongst others, Jamir Baloch, Noor Jahan Bilgrami, owner of the Bilgrami Art Gallery, Rabia Zuberi, founder Karachi School of Arts, are exhibiting at the gallery.

The exhibition will be open to public until November 5.
