Pakistan got their Hong Kong Sixes campaign off to a bright start when they beat South Africa by 23 runs in their opening match. Sohail Tanvir top-scored with 38 off eight deliveries after Abdul Razzaq was dismissed after the first ball. Pakistan managed 110 for three off their quota before restricting South Africa to 87. In the other matches, Sri Lanka, Ireland, India, England, Scotland and Australia came out winners on the opening day.
