"I completely reject this, this is wrong and baseless," military spokesman Major General Athar Abbas told AFP.
US officials have reported a sharp rise in cross-border attacks against its forces in eastern Afghanistan as relations deteriorated after US forces raided Pakistan to kill the world's most wanted man, Osama bin Laden, in May.
Lieutenant General Curtis Scaparrotti, the deputy US commander in Afghanistan, said that rocket and mortar fire against his forces appears to come from within sight of Pakistani military posts.
"In some locations from time to time you will see what just appears to us to be a collaboration... or at a minimum a looking the other way," he said.
He said that the border forces come from Pakistan's paramilitary Frontier Corps, who are locally recruited and not as highly trained as army units.
Asked about Scaparrotti's comments, Abbas told AFP: "I told you, it is not true, all this is wrong."

@ Solomon2 : Who in your view helped US to fight against USSR in Afghanistan ? When they are with US they are heroes and when against US they are terrorists .... US politics for its benefits in the Middle East works on the basic principle :
**To give Jack a bad name and shoot him.**
The gave a bad name of WMD's in Iraq and butchered millions of people there. Same is the case with Afghan Jihadists.
The US is looking into a war Bloody US
@Rangrooot: "we have problems and we will sort out it without your help."
Your track record in problem solving is not very impressive!
@Y Khan: Wow, "butchering a million Iraqis"! Better call the UN commision on Human Rights and tell them the news, along with your sources of "a million Iraqis"!
The answer is very simple. The US should just return fire and pulverize the offending positions. Then any complaint from Pakistan should be met with a denial that anything ever happened. After all, two can play this game.
@Khalid: So "democracy is a zionic system"!, then please tell us how you plan to eliminate "democracy" in Pakistan! Perhaps replacing it with something like the Iranian model of "democracy", oops, there's that word again.
"Asked about Scaparrotti’s comments, Abbas told AFP: “I told you, it is not true, all this is wrong.”"
The opposite of truth is false. Whether it is wrong or right is a completely different issue:).
One thing i don't understand why these Indian's are taking too much interest in every Pakistan news, and always available to comment. plz mind you own business and let us do what we do. its better to concentrate on you country. don't tell us where we are going or what we have to do. we have problems and we will sort out it without your help.
@ hassan dude u r ISPR stuff!!
and er i meant it to be a compliment ;p
@sara: Innocent country and pakistan ???? are you kidding
Those who play with fire should not be afraid of it. Its pay back time, sweetheart.
Do more then get more . Pakixtan can not ignore her resposibility as an ally in war against terrorism .No more the duel game will be acceptable to the world community .
Sorry Hassan but you do not make sense, yes you do explain whatever the US would like to say to us, but that is not the truth. I am really sorry but I see where you are coming from.
Egypt has The Nile flowing through it while Pakistan has Denial flowing through it
Some Americans have a problem...they're just not quick enough on the uptake. No Pakistani worth his or her salt will turn against the Pakistan Army and support the Americans on this, to put it in very simple language. Is the message getting through??
@Mohammad Hamza: "The United States created Taliban and now -"
Why should we read the rest of what you write if you don't bother to research and discover the truth?
To be fair, no one expected Pakistani military to actually admit of supporting the Terrorists, oops, Freedom Fighters. My bad.
You have to do what you have to do.
@Y Khan:
No but they found Osama in Abbottabad, will that do?
Truth and facts have no meaning for the establishment state.
@R S JOHAR: Yes with one peculiar difference. We are a lamb with vicious teeth
@hassan: Very well explained.
The United States created Taliban and now Taliban are creating problems for them. Actually US is now frustrated over the Afghan War after wasting billions of dollars on it. US wants to find a way out and this way out can only be provided by Pakistan. How do you expect Pakistan to collaborate with you when you are bombing over it land, doing an operation in Abbottabad without taking into confidence its military and furthermore criticizing its army and intelligence. The attack on American troops is just a manifestation of the fact that US and its troops can not hold the Jihadists in Afghanistan without the help of Pakistan. They must learn to respect the sovereignty of Pakistan and its millitary otherwise no matter how much time they spend in Afghanistan their efforts would prove futile.
This is continuing on from the BBC documentary. Tomorrow someone else is going to say something.
Hey America did you find the WMD's in Iraq after butchering a million Iraqis and spending a trillion dollars?????
@Tauseef...o really? so my dear analyst friend what would you have us believe?that the "poor" americans are under siege in Afghanistan? or perhaps you would lead us to believe that the axis of evil infact runs through the intelligensia and our forces vis-a-vis perhaps the only citadel of reason and truth would be left within Washington DC itself? open your eyes and show some solidarity.
@sara: haha. Stop being anti India if u want to progress. Stop giving so much importance to us (indians).Their is no ref of Indians in this news , even then u r dragging us into this. HAHAHA.
Why are these Americans always accusing Pakistan who is as innocent as a lamb ?
Whenever someone accuses you of some wrong doing, along with evidence, there are some standard procedures to be followed:
1.) First, deny it completely. Say that the accusation is being made to destabilize the country and steal our nukes. Say that this is a conspiracy. 2.) Next, discredit the person who makes accusation. Who are you to say this? Didn't you invade Iraq and Libya? 3) Now is the time to discredit the evidence. Those guys in the BBC documentary, they are all Hollywood actors, did you not see that? Isn't BBC is funded by RAW? 4.) Now, start counter-accusation. You are the one to do it, and now you accuse of this? 5.) Now raise the pitch, attacking straight: So what, these guys were also your friends once. Your CIA created them ! 6.) Start orchestrating TV shows to elaborate on the above points with friendly anchors. Ask Defence Analysts to ponder over the question 'who benefits'. 7.) This will rattle the Americans completely, though, their drones will be flying as usual. 8.) One more attack on some irrelevant embassy or some random NATO truck or some bomb blasts take place. 9.) Start from Point 1 all over again.
Gen Abbas, always in denial mode are'nt we ?
Americans only see what they want to see, even that which is not happening and are blind to the attacks from inside Afghanistan into Pakistan territory by Afghan Terrorists, supported by Afghan and NATO FORCES.
Trying to completely frame Pakistan on the baseless charges of cross-border firing, and supporting so-called Taliban etc. etc.. demonstrates a frustrated and misunderstood picture of Afghan issue. The only country that could really save the US and NATO from further political embracement is Pakistan and its military. Unfortunately, this fact is not being realized. It is often assumed that psychological warfare follows a major offensive. It is likely that the serious economic meltdown in Europe/US would generate desire to militarily engage more countries, the consequences of such adventure will be very serious and detrimental to International security. The current US defence-state department administration have to realize that for almost a decade, the allied forces have wasted billions of dollars of US/European taxpayers' money in Afghanistan. No serious efforts are being made to reconstruct Afghanistan OR negotiate with the entire political forces because "Invaders can never be the Natives". The solution to this complex problem is not to create another problems, but aims at "Doing More Together" with Pakistan. The US/NATO must not undermine the impact of a United Pakistan, a friendly & stable Afghanistan could only positively contribute to world peace. Civilizations cannot remain self-proclaimed defenders of International security until they prove in the face need. The US and NATO allies must show its resolve to its own belligerent and offensive diplomatic posture. It would just hurt 6 decades old friendship between Pakistan and the US.
There are lies, white lies and then ISPR statements.
America, u never needed any permission to attack any innocent country so stop all this nonsense that Pakistan is now attacking your forces,i mean c'mon!...get some help from Indian media they are good in making masala drama!
Its baseless statement on PAK ARMY What about you ? You violating PAKISTAN air space by your DRONE ATTACKS 4 OR 5 TIMES IN A WEEK.
I think our civilian leadership also needs to respond to such allegations as USA is framing Pakistan by gradually building a case as a way to use it like a bargaining chip to twist arm of Pak Army!
Americans, stop the propaganda for Pakistan and as well as our heros (PAK ARMY).
