Khatri won all his nine games and ended with a spread of 1036 while Pervez and Inayatullah won six games each. However, Pervez clinched the second spot after finishing higher on points.
Meanwhile, Khatri, who missed out on the World Scrabble Championship earlier this month, said his confidence received a major boost after he won his third ranking title. The player is now looking forward to the Causeway Scrabble Championship being held in Malaysia in December.
“Not going to Poland for the World Championship was a setback,” Khatri told The Express Tribune. “I practised a lot for it and that helped me win.”
In the under-18 event, Yash Gandhi stood first ahead of Mirza Tayyab and Maryam Arif.
