National drive: Campaign against polio kicks off

LAHORE: A three-day National Immunisation Campaign against Polio will start from October 24 (today). A Health Department spokesman said 16 million children of up to 5-years would be administered vaccine drops by October 26. The spokesman said that children aged 6 months to 5 years would also be given a Vitamin A dose. He said 31,960 mobile teams will go door-to door for this purpose. He said motorway police would administer polio drops to travelling children and for this purpose vaccination teams had been deputed at motorway interchanges and toll plazas. This facility has also been made available in all health facilities across the province. He said the vaccination teams had also been stationed at all railway stations, bus terminals and exits of cities to administer the drops.
