Qazi Hussain was addressing an anti-US rally in Peshawar. He also maintained that the Pakistani nation would stand with the JI on this matter.
More than 1,500 Jamaat-e-Islami activists along with provincial and district JI chiefs were present on the occasion.
Qazi asserted that any attack by United States on Pakistan would not be tolerated and said the nation would stand united against the US.
Angry protesters also voiced their fury by chanting anti-America slogans.
(Read more: Pakistan has right to maintain contact with Haqqani network, says Qazi Hussain)
Last month, anti-American protests by religious parties broke out in several Pakistani cities after political leaders joined in rejecting US accusations that Islamabad was supporting militants.
Charges by top US general Mike Mullen that Pakistan’s spy agency had supported an attack on the US mission in Kabul has added to anti-American sentiment in a country where a poll in June showed that almost two-thirds of the population considered the United States an enemy.
The United States has long pressed its ally Pakistan to pursue the Haqqani network, one of the most lethal Taliban-allied Afghan groups fighting Western forces in Afghanistan.
Pakistan denies it supports the Haqqanis and says its army is too stretched battling its own Taliban insurgency to go after the network, which has between 10,000-15,000 fighters.

I did not mean to offend you or any other person of Waziristan. My hart bleeds for Waziristan. I started my basic education from Hangu. I know North and south waziristan more than any local. Ordinary public is very humble and poor, live under the law of political agent one man rule. Now the time is ripe let some one clean up from all the insurgents, criminals and Anti State elements.
Please demond that all FATA area to be turned into settled area, I like to see schools collages, Hospitals and industry in Waziristan. All this area is full of mineral wealth with right direction you can turn Waziristan into Dubai.
Choice is with the people of Waziristan ,How they like to live ?
@goggi: very rude comment on beards. whats wrong with it. if beards are the signboards of terror then all jewish rabbis and sikhs are terrorists.not only that..somany rajput kings were terrorists
We should look to MQM for foreign policy initiative to replace Jamat-e-Islami for the reason that Altaf Hussain has taken upon himself to play the US game in the region.
Yeah right!
As if Jamat-e-Islami holds any ministry to influence the foreign policy.Do they have any votebank these days?
I hope if JI Chief read my comments. North waziristan is a part of Pakistan. But government of Pakistan wants to invade their own country, Because to establish REIT of the government. If today people of North waziristan lay down their weapon. They must stop sending suicide boys to the rest of Pakistan killing innocent their county men attacking people praying and bombing schools.
enough is enough Pakistan government of Pakistan must take action and wipe out all insurgents. If Pakistan Government cannot fix this they should give this area to Afghanistan . Let them fix this problem.
Half hart ed action is no point remove this Cancer for ever.
Mullah Fazal, do you have any clus how and why the foreign policies are made and why these policies are changed. I agree no changes in religion, but foreign policy is not ment forever. You also changed your policies, for the sack of your own benefit, think about the country as well.
@IHM
Jhute ka jhuta dost.
What I have stated is a fact and diminishes all this so called superficial facade of JI.
What's so great about winning the Shah Faisal Award, after all there is no one with more under the American influence than the Saud's.
You merely confirmed my fact with your provided info.
Dear JI (and to everyone else),
How about an anti-electrictity loadshedding rally? Anti-railways crisis rally? Anti-inflation rally? Anti-corruption rally? Anti-CNG loadshedding rally Anti-unemployment rally? Anti-terrorism rally? Anti-tax evasion rally Anti-Moonis Elahi acquittal rally?
Or maybe just a rally against anything that plagues our rotten and broken nation?
No, I didn't think so...
@Talha Dushman ka dushman dost. Politics is all about common interests and there are no permanent allies.
p.s Go read Maulana Maududi's Bio before making any rubbish comment about him! He was a great Islamic scholar philosopher and muslim revivalist. He also won the Shah Faisal Award for his services to Islam. All he wanted to do was create a global uprising of the Muslim Ummah. No one cares If the US is of the same view and wants to fund this.
The bearded crowd of Great Thinkers and Intellectuals in the above picture represents the true spirit of Pakistani egalitarian and progressive oriented awaam!
Correction:
JI gained power in Pakistan during the late 70′s due to support from America and the Sauds.
Sir, foreign policy is constant since 64 years. Why you wake up before elections ?
JI gained power in Pakistan during the late 80's due to support from America and the Sauds.
One ISI officer wrote the following about Maulana Maududi, the Godfather of JI:
Source : "Profiles of Intelligence" - Page 35 by Brig S.A.I. Tirmazi former DG JCIB- Inter Services Intelligence
Pakistan can support whoever it likes, afterall, hasnt the US turned a blindeye to Mullah Fazullah and hasnt CIA supported Jundullah?
So I agree with JI.
