MIAN CHANNU: The government should reclaim land from encroachers and allot at least four kanals each to women farmers, demanded  president of the Society for Women Farmers, an NGO. Aqeela Naz said that doing so could usher in a green revolution within the agriculture sector in Pakistan. Naz said that women farmers were willing to take the initiative and would gladly work to bring uncultivated land under use by growing crops, provided they receive government support. Drawing the government’s attention to problems faced by women growers, she said that women farmers who had already proven their mettle in the agri-sector ought to be given at least 4 kanals land each for cultivation of food and cash crop.  The seminar was also addressed by MPA Pir Jameel Shah, Dr Fauzia and several women farmers.
