The Beacon House School System and Beacon Light Academy were issued contempt of court notices on Thursday for violating a restraining order barring new admissions.
The plaintiff, Naimullah Khan, filed the suits against the schools located at house Nos. E 111 and E 112 in Block 7 of Gulshan-e-Iqbal. They were heard on on Thursday by Justice Sajjad Ali Shah.
Khan’s lawyers Akhtar Hussain and Masood Ghani argued that the schools were restrained from taking in new admissions and had this order been followed, by May 2010 only class X should have remained.
But, the lawyers argued, the schools willfully violated and circumvented the restraining order by admitting students to other branches and later shifting to the plots in dispute.
The defendant schools also made additions and alterations without approval from the building control authority, which also colluded by turning a blind eye to the violations of the building codes.
Justice Sajjad Ali Shah ordered for the notice to be issued on alleged charges of contempt of court for a date to be fixed later.
