KARACHI: Pakistan Business Council has urged the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to implement customs security condition of the Afghan-Pakistan transit trade agreement in order to check misuse of the transit facility. In this regard, the council has sought a meeting with the FBR to discuss various issues. In a letter sent to FBR Chairman Salman Siddique on Thursday, the council said that according to the agreement Afghan importers are required to provide customs security for transit operations. This customs security needs to be equivalent to Pakistan’s import levies charged on the goods in transit.
