KARACHI: Pakistan were held to a 1-1 draw by India after the Greenshirts missed an opportunity to convert a penalty face-off in the final stages of their nine-a-side match of the International Super Hockey Series.

While it was a low-scoring affair, the arch-rivals provided thrilling action to the Perth audience. A string of chances were created by both sides but impressive goal-keeping ensured only two goals were scored in the newly-introduced format.

The second half was as thrilling but Ahmed’s attempt to convert the penalty face-off failed three minutes before the final whistle. India, who were thrashed by New Zealand on the first day of the tournament, were reduced to eight players after a green-card offence.
