SC sets date for NICL case hearing

The Supreme Court fixes October 25 for the hearing of the multi-billion rupee scandal.

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday fixed October 25 for the hearing of the multi-billion rupee National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scandal.

A three-member bench has been constituted headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, The Express Tribune has learnt.

The other members of the bench are Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Tariq Parvez.

In this regard the Supreme Court has issued notices to the Attorney General of Pakistan, Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Zafar Qureshi the former Additonal DG FIA as well as the chief investigation officer of NICL scandal.

Other relevant officials have also been summoned for an appearance before the court.

The FIA headquarters in Islamabad has also conveyed the FIA Punjab chapter in this regard, sources familiar with the matter told The Express Tribune.
