Dengue claims 8 more lives in Lahore

Dengue claims eight more lives in Lahore, total number of infected patients reaches 17,500.

LAHORE: The Dengue virus continues its deadly hunt as eight more people have fallen prey to the epidemic, raising the death toll to 260 in Punjab, of which 242 belong to Lahore.

The total number of people affected with the virus has now crossed 17, 500, with 185 new cases reported in Punjab, out of which 125 are from Lahore.

Some 1,300 patients are under treatment at various hospitals across the province.

'Action against hotels, restaurants not taking preventive measures'

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif says action will be taken against hotels and restaurants that are not taking preventive measures against dengue.

The chief minister ordered the secretary of food department to visit hotels and restaurants, to check their preventive measures against dengue.

I appreciate the measures they are taking & would humbly request the federal government to avoid making political statements & criticizing the efforts & measures they are taking! They are taking the best measures they can but we have to realize the fact that this is a natural disaster & would take some time. I’d also like to request the mature class of my country, like try to bring in the best practices, bring in the tidiness & starts this from your doorstep.
